This lapel pin was produced in 1990 for the Olympic Winter Games taking place in Albertville, France in 1992. IBM was an official partner of this event.
This perfect quality lapel pin is made of cloisonné enamel. It represents the official logo of the Albertville Olympic Games, on a white background and gold border. The IBM logo is topped with the Olympic rings. This is the golden variant of this pin, there is also a more common silver variant which is also available on our store.
Historically speaking, the 1992 Albertville Olympics took place at a time of great enthusiasm for pin collectors. The Albertville stamped lapel pins were therefore highly sought after by collectors.
The back of this lapel pin bears the mention ©OCOG 1990, COJO meaning in french “Comité d’organisation des Jeux Olympiques” (Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games).
