Here is a six colors Apple rainbow hard enamel king size lapel pin marketed by Apple in its official catalog of goodies, in the early 80s. This is a lapel pin that we here designate as king size, as its size is significantly more important than the classic Apple lapel pin. This lapel pin has been mainly distributed in the United States, which explains why it is quite unusual on the European market. It is an excellent quality lapel pin, comparable to lapel pins produced in France by Decat Paris. Two details distinguish it however from the french lapel pin. First of all, it is much larger than the Decat model. Then its thickness. This lapel pin is very fine if you compare it to Decat lapel pin. From the point of view of quality of realization of cloisonné hard enamel, it is a high quality work. The six enamelled colors are separated by a golden net. It is a very elegant lapel pin. However, given its size “American”, it is not very discreet!
In the 1983 Apple gift catalog, this lapel pin is declined in pendant (with a chain in gold or a gold plated chain). The lapel pin is available in two versions. A single lapel pin version, that we offer here and a tie tack version (available on our shop).
It is a high quality lapel pin as could be found in the early 80s in the Apple goodies catalog. It is a rare object for the Apple passionate collector.
