At the Appleworld conference in Los Angeles, Apple Computer, Inc. unveiled its long-awaited “open” Macintosh, wich allows for installation of add-on boards such as network interface cards. Apple will introduce two models of the open Macintosh, the Macintosh SE and Macintosh II. Both models will be able to support operating systems such as Unix and MS-DOS, in addition to the native Macintosh operating system.
